Harold Dao, PhD

FBS has named Harold Dou, Ph.D. as Director of Product Quality & Biology. Dr. Dou will work in the company's manufacturing facility in Visalia, California, where he will be responsible for product quality and formulation and biological testing of new products.

Dr. Dou has extensive experience in the development of innovative agrichemical products, particularly within the fruits and vegetables industry.  He has worked as a R&D manager at BASF and Glico USA. He was a research specialist with the Florida Department of Citrus and the University of Florida, and at UC Davis. While there he focused in the areas of formulation development and biological testing, leading to the development of emulsified products.

"Harold's prior experience with new product testing and development, lab management and quality control are all highly valuable skills that we felt complemented an already strong R&D team," said Brian Goodwin, CEO of FBS. 

Dr. Dou received B.S. degrees in Agrichemistry and Biology from Northwest Agricultural University in Yangling, China. He earned both an M.S. and Ph.D. in Plant Nutrition/Agronomy from Justus-Liebig University in Giessen, Germany while studying under K. Mengel who is one of the foremost experts in plant nutrition.
