FBSciences Selects Management For Australian Agriculture Market
May 8th, 2008
FBSciences (Floratine Biosciences) has contracted with Superior Agronomic Solutions to manage the company’s Australian business operations and sales. Superior Agronomic Solutions, led by managing partner Ian Leonard, will be responsible for establishing field trials and research opportunities for FBSciences, as well as fostering new sales relationships.
Leonard earned a Bachelor degree in Business from Sydney University in 1993 and has extensive experience in the Australian agricultural industry. Prior to attending the university, he worked in the Outback on a large farming operation.
After graduation, Leonard was employed with Clyde Agriculture as a Company Agronomist working with cotton, sorghum, corn, soybeans, navy beans, wheat, barley and chickpeas. He then moved to Central Queensland, an area with extreme insect and disease pressure, to work with Simon Struss as a private consultant.
He also served as a Senior Sales Agronomist for Queensland Cotton at the Cecil Plains branch. While there, Ian completed a Certificate in Rural Science with an emphasis in crop production – a two-year external course through the University of New England, Australia.
Leonard also owns and manages his own turf agronomy company, Superior Turf Solutions, which he started in 2001.
“As FBSciences expands globally, we are looking for experienced and successful agronomists and managers to help us introduce our products into new markets,” said Brian Goodwin, CEO of FBSciences. “Superior Agronomic Solutions fills both the agronomist and management roles. The company’s agricultural experience is critical. Their job is essentially going to consist of building a brand new business for FBSciences in Australia.”
