FBSciences Establishes Field Trials Throughout Australia
June 10th, 2008
Superior Agronomic Solutions, which recently contracted with FBSciences (Floratine BioSciences, Inc.) to manage the company's Australian business operations and sales, has established more than 100 field trials for wheat, potatoes and macadamia nuts to be conducted with FBSciences' products throughout Australia.
The randomized strip trials will be managed by Superior Agronomic Solutions managing partner Ian Leonard and IHD commercial manager Robert Scott. Each has extensive experience in Australian agriculture.
The trials will test FBS products in five IHD member depots: TGT in Mareeba in Far North Queensland; Pursehouse Rural Agribusiness Services in Quirindi, New South Wales; Pursehouse Rural Agribusiness Services in Pittsworth, Queensland; Norco Rural in Lismore, New South Wales; and MIA Rural Services in Griffith in southwestern New South Wales.
• TGT (Mareeba, north Queensland) Potatoes for overall increased crop quality, increased yield and reducing incidences of hollow heart: FBS will test Carbon Heart ™-F in Northern Queensland’s warm, coastal climate on potatoes. Carbon Heart-F is designed to improve the cellular strength of tuber and root crops, and has been proven on potatoes in North America to increase yields, support cell division and cell elongation, and improve cell wall integrity, leading to a significant reduction of hollow heart.
• Pursehouse Rural (Quirindi, central New South Wales) Wheat for overall increased crop quality and increased yield: To test against the wet and cold climate of central New South Wales, FBSciences will run trials for Carbon Boost™- S and Carbon Defense™- F on wheat. Carbon Boost-S is an FBS foundation product that uses Carbon Power® technology to dramatically improve the uptake efficiency of soil-applied NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium) fertilizers to create strong, vigorous plant growth at the molecular and cellular level. Carbon Defense-F, which is currently under development by FBSciences’ R & D department, contains an all-natural, highly soluble silicon solution. CarbonPower silicate products have been shown to be efficient elicitors of the plant’s natural defense mechanisms, effectively increasing natural resistance to disease.
• DFC Rural (Pittsworth, Queensland) Wheat for overall increased crop quality, increased yield and resolved deficiencies: In Queensland, with its drier climate, FBSciences will conduct trials using Carbon Boost™- S, Zicron™- S and PhotoGreen™- F on wheat. Zicron-S features a breakthrough soil technology that is particularly effective in resolving chlorosis and other symptoms related to Zinc and Manganese deficiencies in crops. PhotoGreen-F resolves Iron and Manganese chlorosis in crops, resulting in quick and longer-lasting green-up by increasing photosynthesis and supporting chlorophyll formation.
• Norco (Lismore, New South Wales) Macadamia Nut Trees for overall increased crop quality, increased yield, increased leaf size: In New South Wales, which is a more tropical climate, FBSciences will test Carbon Boost™- S, Zicron™- F, and PhotoGreen™- F on macadamia nut trees. Zicron-F has revolutionary new Zinc delivery technology that penetrates the cuticle and translocates nutrients throughout the plant. Zicron-F is designed to increase photosynthesis by increasing chlorophyll density and leaf size.
• MIA Rural (Griffith, New South Wales) Wheat for increased quality and yield: The southwestern area of New South Wales has extremely sandy soil with little organic matter and many of the nutrients that are present are tied up in the soil. FBSciences will test Carbon Boost™- S in field trials in order to demonstrate how this product unlocks naturally occurring nutrients, and increases the uptake of fertilizers that are applied prior to planting.
“Superior Agronomic Solutions has embraced the enormous potential of our technology, quickly establishing these critical field trials in Australia to prove to growers that our products work,” said Brian Goodwin, CEO of FBSciences. “The field trials are an essential tool for us as FBSciences continues to expand globally.”
“We are very happy to be working with Floratine BioSciences and Superior Agronomic Solutions,” said Rob Scott, Commercial Manager for IHD. “Our goal is to provide growers with value products that make a difference in their production.
