Research & Development
John F. Bradley, Ed.D.
Director of Research & Development — A renowned conservation advocate, Dr. Bradley has more than 30 years of practical and technical experience in agricultural research and development and is certified as a Professional Agronomist (CPAg) and Professional Crop Consultant (CCA) by the American Society of Agronomy. Before joining FBS, Dr. Bradley was Director of Research for Agricenter International, a Memphis-based agricultural research and educational facility. He has worked as the Mid-South’s marketing representative for Beltwide Cotton Genetics and as a Conservation Tillage Specialist for Monsanto Company, developing Centers of Excellence and Test Demonstration Farms across the southern U. S. In addition, Dr. Bradley also was the director of the Milan Experiment Station in Milan, Tennessee, for 14 years.
Dr. Bradley earned a B.S. in Agriculture (Animal Science) from the University of Tennessee at Martin, received a M.S. in Agriculture (Extension Education) from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He earned his Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from the University of Memphis.
Terry Hanson
Director of Research & Development — Mr. Hanson was formally President and CEO of EDAT, a company that developed and sold production record keeping and data management services for use in agriculture. He has more than 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business management with over 15 years of that spent in the agricultural chemicals industry. His past experience with agricultural chemicals included production management with UAP, sales, marketing and business management in both the crop and specialty markets. Most of this experience was with BASF, where he managed both the southern and Canadian business units, and with PBI Gordon where he was responsible for sales of manufacturing concentrates to specialty formulators and for developing new herbicides and products for the turf market. Since 2000, Mr. Hanson has focused on the use of electronic technologies to bring efficiencies and new business opportunities to the agricultural marketplace.
Mr. Hanson holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Seattle Pacific College and a Master’s Degree in Inorganic Chemistry with focus on vibrational and atomic spectroscopy from the University of Washington.
Harold Dou, Ph.D.
Director of Product Quality and Biology - Dr. Dou has extensive experience in the development and testing of innovative agrichemical products within the fruits and vegetables industry. He has worked on issues ranging from field applications to postharvest management. Dr. Dou has worked as a R&D Manager at BASF and Glico USA. He was a research specialist with the Florida Department of Citrus, University of Florida and UC Davis. In the last ten years, he has focused in the areas of formulation development and biological testing, leading to the development of emulsified products.
Dr. Dou received B.S. degrees in Agrichemistry and Biology from Northwest Agricultural University in Yangling, China. He earned both an M.S. and Ph.D. in Plant Nutrition/Agronomy from Justus-Liebig University in Giessen, Germany while studying under K. Mengel, who is one of the foremost experts in plant nutrition.
