Jay Irvine
Vice President of Sales, United States & Australia
Mr. Irvine has more than 20 years experience in sales, marketing and business development of agricultural chemicals and nutrients for the crop protection industry. Before joining FBSciences, Mr. Irvine was the Vice President of Marketing for Monterey AgResources a formulation and distribution company based in Fresno, California. He worked in various roles at Monterey in supplier management, product marketing, business development, organics products manger, and irrigation business manager. Mr. Irvine also has extensive experience in sales management and sales to retail distributors and dealers in the Western U.S. In addition he has experience in working for and with startup companies in the crop protection industry in new product and market development. Mr. Irvine is a licensed California pest control advisor for agricultural crops. Mr. Irvine earned a bachelor degree from California State University, Fresno in Ag Economics and Marketing.
Bill Zimmer
Vice President of Canadian Business Development
Vice President of Canadian Business Development — Mr. Zimmer started his career farming, and then worked for 25 years in the agri-business industry in the pesticide and crop nutrition sectors. Mr. Zimmer has spent most of his career with BASF where he held various sales and management positions. Mr. Zimmer now covers the Canadian and South American market for FBSciences.
Mr. Zimmer graduated from Ontario Agriculture College at the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, with an associate diploma in Agriculture.
John F. Bradley, Ed.D.
Vice President of Technical Sales Support
A renowned conservation advocate, Dr. Bradley has more than 30 years of practical and technical experience in agricultural research and development and is certified as a Professional Agronomist (CPAg) and Professional Crop Consultant (CCA) by the American Society of Agronomy. Before joining FBSciences, Dr. Bradley was Director of Research for Agricenter International, a Memphis-based agricultural research and educational facility. He has worked as the Mid-South’s marketing representative for Beltwide Cotton Genetics and as a Conservation Tillage Specialist for Monsanto Company, developing Centers of Excellence and Test Demonstration Farms across the southern U. S. In addition, Dr. Bradley also was the director of the Milan Experiment Station in Milan, Tennessee, for 14 years.
Dr. Bradley earned a B.S. in Agriculture (Animal Science) from the University of Tennessee at Martin, received a M.S. in Agriculture (Extension Education) from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He earned his Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from the University of Memphis.
Malcolm Roach
Commercial Manager, Australia
Mr. Roach has approximately 45 years in agribusiness in Australia. He began as a research technician with ICI based at their only southern hemisphere research farm and spent 6 years doing field research in rice, cotton and vegetables. Mr. Roach then moved into a technical/marketing role with Rohm and Haas developing the Dithiocarbamate range for the company along with their rice herbicide Propanil. After several years in a sales management capacity with the Shell Company, Mr. Roach worked as a marketing manager for BASF.
After working on the manufacturing side of agribusiness, an opportunity arose to join the emerging business group IHD as Executive Director on the distribution side. From there he oversaw the development of IHD from a small horticultural focused group to become one of the major distribution channels in Australia with approximately 20% market share, covering all crops including, cotton, sugarcane, cereals and fruit and vegetable crops.
After 16 years with IHD, Mr. Roach now uses his vast agribusiness experience as a consultant for the agricultural companies in the Australian market including the Australian Fresh Fruit Company.
Ian Leonard
Australian Business Manager
Mr. Leonard is managing partner of Superior Agronomic Solutions, FBSciences Australian distribution partner. Prior to attending college, Mr. Leonard worked in the Outback on a large farming operation. After graduating from college in 1993, he worked as a company agronomist for Clyde Agriculture, a private consultant for agronomist Simon Struss, and as a senior sales agronomist for Queensland Cotton. He also owns his own turf agronomy company, Superior Turf Solutions, which was founded in 2001.
Mr. Leonard has a Bachelors Degree in Business from Sydney University. In addition, he earned a Certificate in Rural Science with an emphasis in crop production by completing a two-year external program offered by the University of New England, Australia.
Mark Goodwin
Regional Sales Manager, Canada
Mr. Goodwin brings his extensive turf management, soil science, soil chemistry and plant nutrition knowledge to FBSciences as a Regional Manager covering the Northeast United States and Eastern Canada. He is responsible for sales, and assists distributors and representatives in the field. Prior to joining FBSciences, Mr. Goodwin was with Floratine Products Group as Regional Technical Manager for Northeastern Canada and the United States.Mr. Goodwin holds a B.A. in Environmental Management from Saint Mary's University and a certification in Environmental Planning from Dalhousie Technical University.
Glenn Powell
Regional Sales Manager, Western US
Glenn has 23 years of agriculture experience and is on the Board of Directors for both the California Seed Association and the California Crop Improvement Association.
Before working as a business development consultant for a cotton seed company, Glenn worked with Monsanto as the Territory Sales Manager for Fresno, Kings, Tulare, and Kern counties where he managed retail accounts (including IAP) and introduced value-added traits in corn. Glenn also worked for Delta and Pine Land Company for 17 years as the Regional Sales Manager for California and Arizona.
Earlier in his career, Glenn worked as an agronomist for a couple of farms making fertilizer, and pesticide recommendations for almonds, cotton, wheat, triticale, barley, alfalfa and safflower.
Glenn is a licensed PCA and has a degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in Crop Science/Plant Protection.
We are very excited Glenn has signed on to help us support our customers in this key market and his extensive knowledge of the region will certainly help him hit the ground running. Glenn will work out of the office at our Visalia, CA manufacturing facility.
Mark Seipel
Regional Sales Manager, Midwest US
Mr. Seipel grew up on a diverse livestock and row-crop family farm in Northwest Missouri. His career is packed with successful introductions of new technologies in agriculture, such as the Green Seekers Application Systems and Strip-Till fertilizer Management Systems.In his 30-plus years of sales experience, Mr. Seipel has worked for Yetter Manufacturing as a Territory Sales Manager and a Regional Sales Manager, and Redball, LLC as a Regional Sales Manager. He has worked with farmers and retailers across the country, developing relationships and expanding his knowledge of the industry along the way.
Mr. Seipel graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a B.S. in Education (Industrial Arts).
Scott Sivils
Regional Sales Manager, Midsouth US
Mr. Sivils has 18 years of sales, marketing and communication experience in the Midsouth, and has developed an extensive network of contacts throughout the region. He formerly worked with cotton merchant giant Weil Brothers Cotton, Inc. where he aggressively cultivated new cotton buying opportunities in the five-state region. He also daily compiled regional market and crop condition information. Earlier, he worked as the Midsouth Pool Manager with Beltwide Cotton Cooperative, and as a sales representative with Swayze Brokerage Company.
Mr. Sivils graduated from Northeast Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.
